Transforming Mental Health Care: An Interview with Dr. Safa Rubaye, Co-Founder and CMO of HealoVerse

Dr. Safa Rubaye, a distinguished psychiatrist and co-founder of HealoVerse. Dr. Rubaye brings a wealth of experience in patient care, medical education, and research to his role as Chief Medical Officer. HealoVerse is committed to revolutionizing mental health care by making innovative treatments such as at-home ketamine therapy and virtual reality psychotherapy widely accessible. Let’s dive into how Dr. Rubaye and his team are making strides in the field.

Dr. Rubaye, what inspired you to start HealoVerse?

Thank you for inviting me. The main reason behind starting HealoVerse was my experiences seeing patients who couldn’t find the help they needed with usual treatments. I’ve worked with many advanced therapies and believed that combining these with the latest technology could really make a difference. So, we created HealoVerse to bring these innovative treatments right to the patients who need them.

What sets HealoVerse apart in mental health care?

What’s unique about HealoVerse is how we combine the latest technology with care that’s tailored to each person. We use virtual reality (VR) together with ketamine therapy to help our patients in a way that feels very personal and direct. This method isn’t just about using new tools, but about making the whole treatment experience better and more effective.

Can you explain how VR and ketamine work together in treatment?

Of course! VR lets us create peaceful, controlled settings that patients can explore during their treatment. This works really well with ketamine, which helps quickly reduce symptoms. For example, during treatment, a patient can be in a virtual place that feels calm—like a quiet beach or a gentle forest. This really helps the ketamine treatment work better.

Why do you include journaling in your treatment programs at HealoVerse?

Journaling is very important in our programs because it gives people a safe space to express themselves and sort through their feelings. We make sure that everything our patients write is kept private. This helps them to be honest in their entries, which is key to understanding and managing their emotions and progress.

What has been the biggest impact of HealoVerse on your patients?

The biggest impact we’ve seen is giving people new hope—helping those who felt they had no more options. Our approach, especially the mix of VR and ketamine, has really worked for our patients, allowing them to start healing and see real improvements in their lives.

What are your hopes for HealoVerse looking ahead?

We’re really focused on continuing to improve and reach more people. I hope to see HealoVerse grow to support a worldwide community, making mental health care better and more accessible. We want to keep pushing the boundaries of what we can do with technology in mental health.

Thank you, Dr. Rubaye, for sharing these wonderful insights about HealoVerse.

Thank you! It’s great to share about the work we’re doing at HealoVerse. We’re really passionate about helping people manage their mental health in innovative and effective ways.
